Abstract

Background and aim:.  the aim of this case study was to identify the appropriateness of ergonomic characteristics of outdoor “lat”, “bench press” and “leg press” machines with men anthropometrical parameters.
Materials and Methods:  the data are used for this study was outdoor (park space) fitness equipment and male age over 20 years old among Tehranian citizen. The variables were included dimensions of the outdoor equipment, and anthropometrical parameters of the sample subjects. Moreover, the plummet, engineering meters, rulers, norma and static anthropometric kit (Caliper) for measuring of the anthropometric devices and users (according to Pheasant principle) was used. Then according to ergonomic and fitness standards, exercise science, biomechanics and posture on park equipment, fitness devices have been evaluated. Descriptive statistics and one-sample t-test (parametric test) and binomial test (nonparametric test) were used to describing the Data and test hypotheses.
Results: there was a significant differences between dimensions of outdoor equipment used in this study and optimal anthropometrical parameters of male users (P <0.05).
Conclusion: The results indicated that the outdoor fitness equipment could not be considered as an ergonomic device for male users in terms of anthropometry. So it should be find some ways to do standardize for this equipment.
