Today, the role of exercise and sports sciences in maintaining and promoting the health and lifestyle of individuals in society is well established and scientifically recognized. Undoubtedly, one of the most important means of advancing scientific knowledge in any field or discipline is the dissemination of the scientific achievements of researchers and scholars in that field.
The publication of specialized scientific and research journals is one of the most essential academic tools for addressing the need for up-to-date and effective scientific resources and for providing a foundation for scientific growth and development. Although considerable growth has been observed in the publication of scientific and research journals across most academic fields and disciplines, the expected level of development has not yet been achieved in the specialized fields and subfields of sports sciences. In this regard, the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at Bu-Ali Sina University, in collaboration with prominent specialists from across the country, has undertaken the publication of the Journal of Research in Sports Rehabilitation, focusing on sports injury and pathology and corrective exercise, which are among the highly applicable fields within sports sciences.
The primary aim of the journal is to enhance the scientific knowledge and professional competencies of sports specialists, including university professors, coaches, and other professionals, by familiarizing them with the latest achievements of researchers and scholars in the fields of sports rehabilitation for athletes and individuals with injuries, prevention of sports injuries, correction of musculoskeletal abnormalities, and sports rehabilitation for various diseases through exercise and physical activity.
We hope that, through the publication of fundamental and applied research and findings in these areas, we can fulfill our mission of advancing knowledge and awareness of modern sports science and documenting research findings. We also aim to contribute to the development of knowledge and theoretical foundations in these fields and to provide answers to some of the questions and address some of the uncertainties within the scientific community.
Accordingly, in line with the policies of the National Commission for the Evaluation of Scientific Journals and its recent decision to promote the specialization of all scientific journals in the country and to focus their activities on specific scientific fields and subfields, Bu-Ali Sina University has undertaken the publication of the Journal of Research in Sports Rehabilitation as a biannual journal.
