Background and Aim: Isokinetic contraction is considered as one of the best contraction. One of the most important benefits of this contraction is the torque increment on the muscles, resistance moment adaptation during the range of motion, and decreasing of muscle-skeletal injuries.
Materials and Methods: Therefore, the purpose of this study was to make a modeling on elbow flexion with engineering software, and also comparing the isokinetic and isotonic contractions and calculating the isokinetic moment. In this way, the ADAMS software that can be considered as one of powerful software in dynamical analyzing was used.
Results: The results showed the advantage of isokinetic contraction than isotonic one, so that the amount of isokinetic moment was 60% greater than isotonic, and also with lesser relative damage in joints. Moreover, the isokinetic moment curve was minimum in the beginning of the motion, and it was maximum in 98 degree and then decreases to the end of motion.
Conclusion: This isokinetic moment curve can be use in designing and constructing optimum elbow flexion in bodybuilding devices with the mutual cooperation of engineering and physical education experts.
