Abstract

Introduction: Lateral ankle sprain is one of the most prevalent acute injuries which can increasing risk of proprioception injuries and decreasing balance. The aim of this study was to camper  traditional, suit therapy and combined rehabilitation on dynamic balance in athletes with lateral ankle sprain
Material and methods: Thirty athletes suffering from grade 3 of lateral ankle sprain participated voluntarily in this study. They were randomly divided in to three groups of rehabilitation programs. All subjects participated in eight weeks rehabilitation training (three sessions each week). Dynamic balance was assessed using  modify star test in three directions of anterior, inside posterior and  lateral  posterior  before and after eight weeks. Data was analyzed by covariance test (P<0/05).
Results: The results of study indicated significant difference in dynamic balance between three groups (P<0/05), between combination and suit therapy group (P<0/05) and also between combination and traditional groups (P<0/05), but there were no significant differences between traditional and suit therapy groups (P>0/05).
Conclusions: It can be concluded that combination method have greatest effects on dynamic balance. Therefore it can be recommended that combination method are the best method in rehabilitation of athletes who suffer from lateral ankle sprain.
